2020 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Jason Rivera is a 2021 OF/LHP with a 6-0 177 lb. frame from Smithsburg, MD who attends St. Maria Goretti HS. Recorded a 6.95 second 60-yard dash time. Broad-shouldered, athletic frame with good size and room to fill out. Primary outfielder with a quick arm and works through the ball well. Good athleticism to actions with strong throws recorded up to 87 mph. Secondary lefthanded pitcher with a simple operation and throws exclusively from the stretch. High, inward leg lift and attacks the zone with heavy life. Mixed in a sharp, late-breaking slider that induced a good amount of swing and miss. Lefthanded hitter with a smooth barrel plane and lofted stroke. Strong wrists with some whip and pulls the ball with intent. Works through the ball well with good bat speed and projects for power. Great student. Verbal commitment to Mount St. Mary's. Named to the 2020 Mid-Atlantic Indoor TP List.
