Alex McFarlane is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from St. Thomas, VI who attends VI Montessori School and Peter Gruber International. Very long and slender build with extra long arms and legs. Extended 3/4's to mid 3/4's arm slot, works across his body frequently. Only threw fastballs in the game, topped out at 91 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Threw a big sweeping breaking ball in warmups that had tight spin and showed plenty of potential. Plenty of projection on the mound. Right handed hitter, long and rotational swing with a downhill swing plane, best contact to the middle of the field. Showed his arm strength well in the outfield. Good student, verbal commitment to Miami.
