Hunter Brown is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-6 175 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Southeast Polk. Ran a 7.89 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher with a long and lanky build. Frame and build has plenty of room to fill out and add strength. Starts from the windup with a small side step to a belt high leg lift, getting down the mound quickly with drop and drive actions before landing with good linear direction at foot strike and getting good extension over the front side. Has long arm action in the back, with good arm speed. Has developing command of the fastball at 76-to-80 miles per hour. Mixes speeds well with a spinning slider at 71 miles per hour, and showed good feel for the strike zone to force early contact and get quick outs. Secondary first baseman, with a deeper funnel and developing footwork. Makes accurate throws to bases at 81 miles per hour. Has an even stance at the plate, with a leg lift trigger and direct path to contact. Stays on the back side at the point of contact, flashing the ability to get the hands extended with pop to the pull side. Has a gap to gap approach, with a line drive barrel plane.
