Jaxon Montgomery is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-1 140 lb. frame from Whitney, TX who attends Whitney HS. Long and slender young build, has an athletic look and projects well physically. Works from the stretch, 3/4's arm slot with a long and loose arm action, tends to land closed with his stride foot and throw across his body hurting his extension out front, some energy at release. Fastball topped out at 73 mph, gets some occasional sinking action down in the zone. Slow curveball with good depth to it, has a feel for the curveball and lands it for strikes effectively. Should keep improving with additional strength and adjustments. 7.40 runner, has athletic young actions in the outfield and makes accurate throws from a low arm slot. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a hand drop load, moves into contact well and swings hard, good swing for a young pitcher. Good student.
