Jake Malec is a 2023 1B/RHP, OF with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from St Augustine, FL who attends Bartram Trail HS. Recorded a 7.54 second 60-yard dash time. Long and lean frame with a lot of room to add strength to the build. Primary first baseman with quick turns and surehanded glove hand. Good feel around the bag with simple footwork and an easy release on throws. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a short, online arm stroke and an over the top arm slot. Leg lift at the belt and gets downhill with the fastball. Some life at the bottom of the zone and can land the breaking ball with 12/6 shape for strikes. Righthanded hitter with a wrapped start and a full swing path. Looking to lift the ball and has some comfort to the pull side. Power will come and continue to improve with added strength.
