Troy "Pup" Lopes is a 2020 C with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from Acushnet,, MA who attends Fairhaven HS. Medium frame with young, slender present build; will continue to physically develop and get stronger. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.18 seconds. Sets up to hit from open-based stance; big leg lift trigger to load, collapses on backside a bit as he drives forward in lower half, swing plane gets on liner/chopping path at times, stays committed to the middle of the field an stays online well in hips through contact. Worked out defensively behind the plate, very good twitchiness and compete level back there, jumps up out of crouch and shows springiness, was generally accurate and around the bag on throws and threw up to 66 MPH down to 2nd base. Very good student.
