2020 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Walter Antonio Alfaro III is a 2022 OF/RHP, IF with a 6-0 130 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Olympian. He ran a 7.02 second sixty. A primary outfielder with a projectable athletic build showing room to fill moving forward. In the outfield he showed a shorter arm action with good carry on his throws when he gets extended out front at 82 mph. In the infield he displayed some physical skills that project well moving forward as he continues to add strength. On the mound he works with an up tempo pace matching his arm speed as he tops out at 80 mph with a fastball that showed riding life up in the zone, mixed in a slider as well with firm bit in the low 70's and a fading changeup that shows serious potential. The whole arsenal will take a step forward as he dials in the fastball command. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even upright stance, the barrel works level through the hitting zone with whip in ht wrist that will produce more power as he continues to add strength to the frame.
