Luke Porter is a 2022 1B/LHP with a 5-11 250 lb. frame from Beaverton, OR who attends Valley Catholic. Extra large and sturdy frame. Ran a 9.68 second 60 yard dash. Primary first baseman, footwork plays the baseball nicely both around the bag and deep at the position, hands play but could improve glove work with a cleaner funnel, shuffles into throws releasing from a 3/4 arm slot, developing arm strength that should continue to improve with growth. Secondary lefthanded pitcher, side step up to low leg lift, coils lower half at balance point, strides down the mound with good extension out in front, developing arm speed on the mound, mixed in a 1-7 curveball with some depth in the upper-50s. Lefthanded hitter, small leg lift trigger that could be repeated more consistently, flat bat path, showed some feel for the barrel with some strength at contact. Great student.
