Zachary Staples is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Port St. Lucie, FL who attends St. Lucie West Centennial HS. Recorded a 7.71 second 60-yard dash time. Large frame with good size, strength, and physicality throughout. Primary right-handed pitcher who throws exclusively from the stretch. Smooth leg kick over the belt with some effort at finish. Shorter front side and an upper half dominant delivery. Fastball plays best when he gets on top and works downhill. Flashed a slower curveball with good shape and depth. Arm strength plays from secondary position of first base. Right-handed hitter with a balanced stance and a spread open start. The barrel path is flat through the zone and he shows good strength to the pull side. Good jump off the barrel that portends future power. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
