John Luna is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 5-6 125 lb. frame from Taft, TX who attends Sinton HS. Smaller and younger look with plenty of time and room to fill out and add strength. Some present athleticism and could be an impact runner. Primary shortstop with deliberate actions and worked through the ball well. Arm strength is still developing and flashed body control and the ability to make throws from multiple arm slots. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a simple, repeatable delivery. Leg lift above the belt with an easy and clean arm action. Threw from a higher three-quarter arm slot with a low effort overall release. Competed on the mound and filled up the strike zone. Showed three pitches with the ability to throw the curveball for strikes early in the count. Righthanded hitter with an upright, even stance. Simple load and stride with a power-pull side approach. Slightly lofted plane with a linear lower half shift into contact. Stays balanced and behind the baseball well. Good student.
