Chris Castrop is a 2018 OF/3B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Roeland Park, KS who attends Rockhurst HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Primary outfielder with smooth, compact footwork while closing to the baseball. Tends to funnel the baseball from a deeper position, and works through transition with clean glove to hand exchanges. Long arm circle back at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced accurate, on line carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Swings with intent on an uphill plane through extension. Produced good jump off the barrel with present bat speed and strength when on time and squared. Consistently worked to the middle of the field with the strength to split the gaps. Good student as well.
