2017 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Corey Hall is a 2018 OF/ with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Champaign, IL who attends Champaign Centennial. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.67 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth, clean footwork while closing to the baseball. Fluid glove actions at pick up and exchange. Quick arm circle and generated good momentum towards the bag. Released from a compact three-quarters slot producing accurate carry to the bag, topped at 90 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Direct hand path to baseball with a line drive plane through extension. Showed good feel for the barrel and consistently worked the ball to all fields throughout batting practice. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side and lands in line with the plate and finish. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball created good downhill angle through the zone with run to arm side, topped at 83 miles per hour. Curveball had 12/6 shape with good spin and sharp depth. Maintained arm speed with a changeup offering that flashed some sink in the low 70's. Good feel for curveball offering and showed the willingness to double up and pitch backwards when needed. Very good student. Named to the 2017 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
