Kason Alexander is a 2023 C/IF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Marrero, LA who attends Archbishop Rummel. Recorded a 7.88 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, well-proportioned frame with some present strength. Primary catcher that received from a side-saddled stance, receiving softly out in front and gaining ground towards his target. Displayed fairly quick mid-line transfers, working into in a short arm action with some accuracy on his throws. Recorded arm strength up to 72 mph in defensive drills. Secondary infielder with deliberate footwork into and through the fielding process. Displayed clean funnel out in front, working downhill through the baseball and recording arm strength up to 76 mph across the diamond. Also showed some upside on the mound, pounding the strike zone from a loose three-quarters arm slot and topping out at 80 mph in this look. Incorporated simple delivery to repeat well, while showing command of both is fastball and 11-5 shaped breaking ball within the strike zone. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even, balanced with a tight hand set and leg lift trigger for timing. Contact oriented swing with aggressive intent and quickness to his hands. Middle-of-the field approach with ability to turn the barrel on the inner half and produce occasional pull-side line drive contact. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments, maturity and additional strength. Upside remaining on the mound. Good Student.
