Ahmad Owens is a 2024 OF/3B, SS, MIF with a 6-0 167 lb. frame from Harvey, LA who attends St Augustine. Ahmad ran a 7.17 sixty. Primary Outfielder he has a long lean athletic frame. He does a good job on staying behind the ball with good intent with his actions. He showed plenty of effort to his throws with good arm strength and accuracy to bases. At shortstop Ahmad worked with quick feet and good glove to hand transfers. On the mound he works with a large drop step as the hands shift down at the start. He works with a straight over the top arm action with occasionally cutting his release short at extension. The fastball topped out at 75mph as he had good command of it to both sides of the plate. The breaking ball had loose spin with some vertical depth to it. Right handed hitter worked with a wide even base with a low to mid leg lift trigger. The swing is compact with a level path. Owens showed quick hands with some strength in them to the pull side. He is a great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
