2020 PG Underclass All American Games
Lincoln Sheffield is a 2022 1B/LHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Flowood, MS who attends Hartfield Academy. Nice young square shouldered athletic build with plenty of physical development remaining. Very athletic for a first baseman, 6.89 runner in the sixty, has nice footwork with a clean glove and excellent arm strength for the position. Can no doubt play outfield at a high level as well. Left handed hitter, has an aggressive swing at the plate with a short and hard swing, creates some back spin and carry and projects power in the future, good balance in his overall swing approach. Also pitched, high leg raise delivery with fluid and low effort mechanics, arm really works well coming through, repeats his mechanics and release slot. Mid-80's fastball with plenty more there in the future, has been up to 88 frequently this summer, threw his fastball to spots. Curveball showed tight spin and good power. Very interesting young two-way player who is going to keep getting better. Good student, verbal commitment to Mississippi State.
