2022 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Adalberto Zapata III is a 2023 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-11 120 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends University. Very slender young build. Simple delivery with good balance at his gather, compact 3/4's arm slot with a clean arm action through release, has a bit of crossfire angle out front at release, repeats his mechanics well. Fastball sat at 70 mph and topped out at 73, had nice southpaw running life and was thrown for strikes. Best pitch was a mid-60's curveball that had nice 1/7 shape and spin, lands the curveball consistently for strikes as well. Has an idea how to pitch and kept hitters off balance throughout his outing. Key to his development will simply be getting stronger. Very good student.
