Ian Ortiz Marrero is a 2018 SS/2B/3B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Dorado, PR who attends Puerto Rico BB Academy. Long limbed athletic build, projects well physically, 6.79 runner, has a quick first step and shows range, compact arm action with a good release, makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, high back elbow approach, stays balanced well and drives his hands at the ball, has quick hands, downward swing path, works the middle of the field and gets some jump off the barrel when he squares the ball up. Will keep improving as long as he's getting stronger. Good student.
