Matthew Evans is a 2022 RHP/C, 1B, 3B with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from Fernandina Beach, FL who attends Yulee. Showing the most promise on the mound with great body control as he glides down the mound. The arm definitely has speed on it as he gets over his front leg well, ball showed life in the bottom of the zone at 82 mph. Flashed a slider at 72 mph which was tight with some nice depth to it, sometimes it would back up on him. In the infield he would wait back to long on the ball but was very accurate on the throws that were stiff. In the box he has a short swing that uses his hands primarily that has a very level path. Swings the bat pretty hard and defiantly has strength. Outstanding student.
