Carson Shaver is a 2019 C/1B/3B with a 5-11 193 lb. frame from Ozark, MO who attends Ozark. Compact very strong prototypical catcher's build. 7.47 runner, has quickness and athleticism behind the plate, aggressive in his shifting and throwing footwork, has good arm strength with carry to his throws, compact exchange and arm action, has the physical tools to catch at the next level. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open crouches stance with a hand hitch load that will leave him behind in his timing occasionally, swings hard and is looking to drive the ball, has some lift in his swing, has the strength to hit but will have to improve his timing consistency. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Missouri State.
