2022 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Janiel Santana is a 2024 RHP/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends Richmond Hill. It's safe to say Santana had one of if not the most electric arm of the event, showcasing effortless life out of the hand on the bump up to 89 mph. The righty used a full arm action and easy operation to work downhill well, changing tempos effectively to throw off the timing of hitters on multiple occasions. In terms of off speed, Santana flashed a changeup with hard late fade that was effective down in the zone. He also worked from the OF where the loud arm translated directly, displaying athleticism and aggression in his build up. Offensively, Santana started from an even base with solid lower half rotation and barrel control to create line drive contact to the middle of the field. Ran a 7.37 sixty yard dash. Named to Mid-Atlantic Indoor Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
