Bret Clements is a 2023 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-11 141 lb. frame from Oak Ridge, NC who attends East Forsyth. Slender young athletic build with lots of time and room to get stronger. 7.32 runner in the sixty, has athletic fluid actions through the ball on defense in the outfield, good balance fielding the ball and uses his lower half well throwing, throws from a side arm slot that ideally would be adjusted higher for more on line carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow straight stance with a pronounced hand hitch load that can leave him late at times, has good quickness in his hips and projects good torque to his swing as he matures physically, line drive swing plane, pull to mid field contact. Also pitched, simple mechanics on the mound with some drop and drive elements to the plate, stays on line with his arm and body well, high 3/4's arm slot with some whip out front. Fastball topped out at 78 mph and projects for plenty more, slurve type breaking ball had good shape and was landed well for strikes, also developing a change up. Solid all around athlete who will keep improving in proportion to how much stronger he gets. Good student.
