Matthew Geelhoed is a 2022 OF/RHP, UT with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Alachua, FL who attends Santa Fe. Large frame with a lean, wiry type build showing room to fill out physically in the future. Ran a 7.16 second sixty yard dash. Primary Outfielder, sitting back on the baseball as he makes sure he takes clean routes to the baseball. Gathers to the side and then carries weight well into throws. Arm strength starting to show as he threw it 79 mph with carry. Accurate to the target and confident with the arm. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working exclusively from the stretch as he lifts to the belt. Drives with the lower half and stays direct to the dish. Medium arm circle before releasing from a higher slot. Free and easy arm action that proves to have more velocity down the road. Filled up the strike zone and went right after hitters early. Fastball up to 77 mph and mixed in a breaking ball showing depth that he landed for strikes. Right-Handed Hitter, starting even before working into a small leg trigger to stride. Strength in the hands present as he stays short & simple while whipping the barrel through the zone. Showcased some power when he got extended and squared it up. Projects power in the future with a strength gain. Outstanding Student.
