Stephen Smith is a 2019 RHP with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Menifee, CA who attends Santa Rosa Academy. Big and strong broad shouldered build. Works from the stretch, gathers well over the rubber, can use his strong lower half better getting down the mound, stays on line well, compact arm action in back with a 3/4's release point. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 76 mph, gets consistent sinking and running action, showed the ability to spot his fastball and work in and out. Short 12/6 downer curveball, showed nice fading life on his change up. Generated lots of soft ground ball contact and threw strikes for four innings. Good student.
