Clay Thompson is a 2018 OF/LHP, 1B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Mesquite. Medium-large frame with athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.25 seconds. Hits from slightly open stance with narrow set, minimal hand load or subsequent separation, pushes barrel though zone with inside-out hand path, compact stroke overall, pullside approach executed relatively well, solid feel for contact. Worked out in the outfield, good movements to ball with balance and athleticism, judges ball well off bat, lower arm slot slinger on throws, clocked up to 79 mph. Very good student.
