Jack Roundy is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Draper, UT who attends Corner Canyon High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout, quick-twitch muscle; posted a 6.68 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, does a nice job of moving on feet and working behind the ball, fields out front and works into a full arm action, upper body dominant release and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into release, shows a quick transfer and throws from a higher slot. Also pitched, abbreviated windup with a leg lift up to belt; shows a full arm stroke through the back working to an over-the-top release. Lands mostly on line with lower half and generates some extension out front, shows running life to fastball which topped out at 77 mph when on top and working down in the zone. Filled the zone and pitched to contact, mixed in an 11-5 shaped curveball with short depth up to 66 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Utilizes a leg lift trigger, short shift and can continue to implement additional lower half. Has strength to hands and stays short to the ball with leverage out front. Sound contact off the barrel to the opposite field, looks to elevate at point of contact and shows a handle for the barrel. Very good student.
