2018 Great Lakes Prospect Showcase
Garry Maynard is a 2019 3B/RHP, MIF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Oswego, IL who attends Oswego. Large frame with strong, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.31 seconds. Hits from even-based stance, spread, small hand load, good timing skills, swings it hard with good intent, hands work very well through swing, shifts well into swing, line drive approach with good extension, covers the plate well and made consistently hard contact. Worked out in the infield, clean hands out front with good funnel, moves well to both sides, profiles well at 3B, quick arm with accuracy from multiple slots, clocked up to 83 mph. Also pitched, compact arm stroke, max effort delivery, collapses onto backside and gates hip downhill, fastball worked 78-83 mph with control to middle of zone, showed slider with some sweep, dropped slot to throw changeup. Good student, named to 2018 Great Lakes Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
