Harper Ross, Jr. is a 2021 RHP/SS with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Leland, MS who attends Washington. Medium and young frame, lean and skinny with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.46 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a short side step up to a leg lift above his belt, delivery stays deliberate throughout, full arm action that tends to wrap around the back side, releases from a high 3/4 arm sot, could utilize the front side for more consistent timing of the arm coming through, could really get more from his lower half for added velocity moving forward. Filled up the zone nicely to either side of the plate with his fastball, topped out at 80 mph, velocity dipped as his outing wore on, mixed in an upper-60s curveball. Secondary shortstop who took reps in the infield fielding out in front with a good position, hands work nicely, exchange cleanly from glove to hand, developing arm strength that should improve as he continues to grow. Righthanded hitter, narrow base with his hands sitting in a medium position, closed off stance, pretty direct to contact with a level swing plane, hits the baseball out in front.
