Evan Crawford is a 2018 OF/ with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Bettendorf, IA who attends Pleasant Valley. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.23 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with aggressive, athletic footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and works through exchange with developing fluidity. Created good on line momentum to the bag and released from a compact three-quarters slot. Throws produce accurate carry to the bag topping at 85 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing deliberate actions while surrounding the baseball. Funnels out front and work through transition with quick, fluid exchanges. Flashed athletic actions while on the run with the ability to throw with accuracy from multiple arm slot, topped at 84 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a crouched, open stance and large leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Direct hand path to baseball with a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Stays behind baseball well at contact and showed solid strength with bat speed. Swung with intent and employed an aggressive gap to gap approach that produced consistent hard line drives to the middle of the field. Very good student. Named to the 2017 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
