Connor Smith is a 2019 RHP/ with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Brentwood, TN who attends Brentwood. Tall and lean build, lots of room to fill throughout frame, primary righthanded pitcher. Short rocker step to begin delivery, high leg kick curling in at the balance point, stays online towards the plate with momentum getting downhill well, long and quick arm action through the back to an extended 3/4 arm slot, displays good extension out front. Pitches off the fastball and works ahead, fastball showed good life to the armside but did straighten out when left up in the zone, overall he kept the fastball down and missed a lot of barrels and drew weak contact, fastball topped out at 80 mph. Also showed a sharp 10-to-5 curveball, maintained the same fastball arm speed with the breaking ball, mixed pitches fairly well and kept hitters off balance. Excellent student.
