Jeffrey Diamond is a 2019 RHP/3B, OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Hattiesburg, MS who attends Presbyterian Christian. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and long arms, present strength proportioned nicely to frame. Primary outfielder, simple side step moving into delivery, some drop and drive to lower half mechanics coming down the mound. Quick and whippy arm action through the back working to a higher three-quarters release, creates extension out front and worked on top of the ball well. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, mostly true in life but able to miss bats with plane and showed ability to work to glove side well. Mixed both a slider and curveball for strikes; slider showed tight rotation with bite, most 11-5 shape to curveball with depth. Best when mixing and able to keep hitters off balance. Similar arm action in the outfield, fields ball closed to body, works over front side well and shows accuracy to home, solid arm strength on throws to home. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow. Keeps hands inside the ball throughout swing, looks to hit hte ball out front and shows ability to get the barrel to the ball, creates occasional lift to swing out front. Excellent student.
