Hezekiah Goodman is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Marion, IL who attends Marion HS. Big barrel chested build, good present strength. Works from the third base side of the rubber with good direction to the plate, long stride out front and gets very good extension out front, 3/4's arm slot, repeats his delivery well. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, gets on hitters pretty quickly, mostly straight. Works primarily off a change up and soft cutter, pitchers strong resemble one another, very good arm speed at release with small wrinkle at the plate. Can do a better job of establishing his fastball to keep hitters off balance. Did not attempt to throw a conventional curveball or slider, so every pitch mostly straight and will need to develop one of these pitches for the next level. Has good arm strength and the ability to pitch and change speeds. Good student.
