Xander Hamilton is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Raleigh, NC who attends Needham Broughton HS. Big and strong athletic build, pretty mature physically. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with an upper half rotational swing, gets to his front side but could hit taller for more lower body utilization, has juice in the barrel and can drive it when everything is timed up, gets out of the box well, 4.19 home to first base. 6.89 runner, long and loose arm stroke in the outfield with sound fundamentals through the ball and solid arm strength. Also pitched, high leg lift delivery from a big side step start, drop and drive lower half mechanics with a full arm stroke, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, works it to both sides of the plate well with some glove side cutting action, wraps his slider in back but gets good tight spin on the pitch, has deception in his delivery. Very good student, verbal commitment to Virginia Tech.
