Justin Looney is a 2019 C/RHP with a 5-11 210 lb. frame from Columbia, MD who attends Mount Saint Joseph. Medium and physical frame with present strength proportioned nicely throughout. Ran a 4.94 second 40 yard dash. Primary catcher, side saddle start, sees the ball all the way in when receiving, receives cleanly with a quick exchange, stays online to second base when throwing down gaining short ground, over the top slot with some carry, showed some accuracy to the bag and has the potential to be really good with some added reps, 1.88 second best pop time. Righthanded hitter, sublte open stance with a high hand set, long swing plane with a full path to contact, some fluidity to path getting the barrel through the zone nicely, strength present in swing and the ball jumps when squared, has some extension out front, simple and easy swing that he repeats well, event best 96 mph exit velocity. Outstanding student. Named to 2018 Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Longwood University.
