Leighton Battles is a 2019 C/MIF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Norwalk, OH who attends Norwalk HS. Young athletic build, some present strength with plenty of room for more. Flexible athletic actions behind the plate defensively, makes accurate throws from a clean release, has good footwork and is fundamentally sound in all his catching actions. Also played the infield with the same good balance, accurate throws and sound fundamentals. Right handed hitter, slightly open stance with a good shift into contact, long and loose swing with some barrel skills, likes the ball middle in and works mid field to pull side, repeats his mechanics well. Plays hard and enjoys the game and performs. Good student.
