Joe Gaggi is a 2023 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends St Joseph. Medium build with some present strength and emerging overall athleticism. Primary position IF, working out front nicely with the glove and creating good angles with quick footwork. Showed quality range laterally, especially to his glove side and had a natural feel for what he's doing on the infield. Present arm strength with velocity up to 83 mph across the diamond and showed excellent ability to throw from various slots. RHH working with a narrow stance and a high hand set with a simple line drive stroke. Displayed quick hands with some strength at impact, and his best contact was in the middle of the field. Occasional timing issues but when on time showed good juice to the pull side with nice loft. Secondary position RHP working from a neutral stance in the middle of the rubber. Clean, balanced position over the rubber leading to a long, one-piece arm action slightly behind his torso. Gets down the mound alright and finishes well over his front leg and when he works vertically through from side he fills up the zone. FB sat in the 79-81 mph range with some explosive life down in the zone. CB showed depth and quick bite in the CB 68-73 range with emerging command of the pitch. Outstanding student with intriguing two-way potential.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
