Kelton Wenger is a 2018 C with a 5-10 137 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Hilltop HS. Medium frame with a compact, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Left handed hitter with a narrow, open stance and high back elbow set. Creates good shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Compact path to contact with a line drive swing plane that creates some leverage through extension. Primarily used a mid-field approach, but showed a tendency to turn barrel to pull side with a slightly extended path. Repeats swing mechanics well with good balance throughout. Worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a smooth paced, clean exchange. Extended, fundamental footwork while gaining ground to the bag. Releases from a low three-quarters arm slot that produces some carry to the bag with accuracy. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity.
