Rey Gonce is a 2018 2B/SS, 3B, C with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Archbishop Carroll HS. Medium build, athletic frame, and strong attributes that moves well on the field. Worked out on the infield and showed good actions defensively. Has a good first step, range, worked through the ball, fielded in a good position. Has a good glove, Showed quick transfer to throwing hand, field and throw in sync, threw accurately to first base from all slots. At the plate he has an open stance and rests the barrel on his back shoulder. Gather to rear leg, short leg lift, and pushes the hands back deep. Barrel is in the zone for a long time because of deep launch position. Showed good feel for contact working the middle of the field. Good Student.
