Luke Koon is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Tallahassee, FL who attends James Rickards. Long, lanky build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.84 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound with a shorter stride, landing closed creating crossfire actions in the delivery and deception to the hitters hiding the ball well. Long arm action in the back with some looseness going to a three-quarter arm slot at release. Displayed a heavy fastball with late sink at 74 MPH complemented with a short late breaking slider creating a lot of swing and miss up to 62 MPH. Also worked out at first base. Displayed low out front funnels while fielding the baseball with clean glove actions. Showed the ability to work off the base towards second base with a clean turn and transfers into throws with good arm strength topping out at 70 MPH across the infield. Right handed hitter. Employs a wide, slightly open stance with a toe tap trigger and slightly downhill barrel path through the zone. Displayed the ability to get arms extended out front getting the barrel out with good bat speed creating consistently driven line drives to the pull side. Great student.
