Michael Brent Mahoney, Jr is a 2021 C/1B, 3B, RHP with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Meridianville, AL who attends Hazel Green. Large frame with strong, physical build. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.05 seconds. Graded out best on the mound, stays inline through back of lengthy arm stroke, creates good plane to the plate from high three quarters arm slot, does a nice job creating life on the fastball, sat in the 75-79 mph range. Worked in curveball with some depth, showed ability to throw strikes. Worked out behind the plate, side-set, strength stands out, gets rid of the ball quickly and cleanly, clocked up to 78 mph on throws. Hits from balanced stance, middle-field approach with line drive swing plane, rotational in torso, will pull off the ball at times, shows good strength at contact when square. Very good student.
