Matthew Dumas is a 2023 OF/LHP with a 5-7 130 lb. frame from Lake City, FL who attends Columbia. Recorded a 6.82 second sixty-yard dash time. Small, slender frame with room to fill out. Primary outfielder with quick twitch and athleticism. Exhibits aggressive approach into the fielding process, while fielding cleanly off his front foot, gathering quickly and maintaining momentum through release. Displayed online, accurate throws with carry and arm strength recorded up to 87 mph during drills. Secondary left-handed pitcher that works from an abbreviated windup with deception. Quick paced delivery with slightly coiled leg lift, high front side lever and good lower half movements down the slope. Works from a higher three-quarters arm slot with quickness on the backside and present arm speed. Aggressive mentality with competitive nature and the ability to throw strikes. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 81 mph with command to all four quadrants. Mixed in sharp slider that flashes potential for future swing-and-miss offering. Plenty of upside on the mound. Left-handed hitter that hits from an open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hanging leg lift trigger. Gap-to-Gap approach with rotational lower half mechanics, slightly inside hand path and some leverage out in front. Fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills with some hand quickness and feel for the barrel. Solid overall prospect with quick twitch. Will continue to improve with proper refinements to his tools and additional strength. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
