2022 National Academic Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Ian Bailey is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Arizona College Prep Erie. Ian is a submarine type pitcher with some funkiness to him. He lifts leg to belt with an upper body tuck and uses deception to throw hitters off. Ian has a bit of a longer arm action but that is expected from that release point. Every now and then will throw from over-the-top slot and get a little extra on it. With an open stance in the box, Bailey gets to a loaded position well but his hands are moving way too much. Bat path is linear through zone and shows some decent contact to the pull side. Ian is a very good student in the classroom.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
