Robert Riggin is a 2020 MIF/RHP, C, 3B, OF with a 5-11 168 lb. frame from Learned, MS who attends Raymond. Medium frame with a lean, thin build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary middle infielder with high energy, active footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and works through exchange with smooth paced, loose exchanges. Deep arm circle and releases from a over top arm slot creating downhill angle across the infield, topped at 75 miles per hour. Switch hitter with an upright, even stance. Creates some shift into contact and tends to work to a taller front side at contact. Loose, uphill plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field but showed the ability to manipulate barrel more from the right side of the plate. Also pitched showing a large rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Smooth paced tempo to gather and stays tall on back side. Works to the plate with slight drop and drive actions while landing in line with the plate on front side. Long arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters to near over top arm slot. Fastball generating downhill angle through the zone in the low to mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had 12/6 shape with some spin and good depth to the bottom of the zone. Lows arm speed with changeup at times and creates sinking action to arm side in the upper 60's. Consistently worked down in the strike zone with all three pitches and induced weak ground ball contact. Excellent student.
