David Ring is a 2019 2B/MIF, RHP with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Wyckoff, NJ who attends Ramapo High School. Medium, athletic frame with narrow shoulders and a young, lean projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Primary middle infield, fields the ball close to body, moves well on feet and shows looseness to arm action, gets extended out front with a fuller arm circle through the back, gets on top of throws and shows nice carry across the diamond. Also pitched, high leg lift up past belt, full arm action through the back with whip and extension, three-quarters release point and able to generate downhill plane when on top of the ball. Front side opens early upon release, fastball topped out at 79 mph, mostly true in life, shows occasional running life with a tight breaking ball and short depth at 70 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high back elbow in the box. Uses a toe tap trigger for timing at start of swing, upper body dominant swing with a simple trunk turn, shows a nice feel for the barrel with a line drive swing plane. Shows nice quickness to hands, generates occasional lift out front with carry off the barrel, direct path with smooth hands, projects nicely moving forward with physical strength.
