Justin Gomez is a 2018 RHP/SS with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Beeville, TX who attends A C Jones HS. Long and loose pitcher's build, plenty of room to get stronger. Simple and easy delivery to repeat, short takeaway in back with good extension in front at release, 3/4's arm slot. Steady 80-81 mph fastball, gets very consistent two-seam running action, works low and stays out of the middle of the plate. Will cut his fastball at times effectively. Curveball has tight spin and good downer shape and he showed the ability to add and subtract from it. Developing change up. Has an idea how to pitch and move the ball around and should keep improving as he gets stronger. 7.18 runner, pretty sound fundamentally in the infield on defense, has a quick first step and a quick exchange throwing. Right handed hitter, big pre-swing wrap creates length, downward swing plane with mid field contact. Very good student.
