Ben Seiler is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-4 240 lb. frame from Albany, NY who attends The Albany Academy. Extra-large, broad shouldered frame with present strength throughout frame. Primary lefthanded pitcher, simple delivery with a short leg lift just below belt, pretty compact and balanced delivery with a short stride down the mound. Short and compact arm action in the back and hides ball well working to a three-quarters arm slot. Creates angle and downhill plane to fastball that topped out at 79 mph, shows cutting life to the bottom of the zone and fills up the zone, gets on top of hitters quickly and can harness the life well. Short and sweeping life to curveball with 1-7 shape, changeup shows slight fading life at 73 mph and throws it for strikes. Short arm action from first base, accurate throws across the diamond and fields the ball close to body. Righthanded hitter, shows balance to mechanics and a short, line drive swing through the zone. Mostly upper body in swing, keeps hands inside through swing and shows ability to use all fields with strength coming off when squared. Very good student.
