Cortland Lawson is a 2019 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Potomac Falls, VA who attends Paul Vl Catholic HS. Nice athletic build, some present strength with plenty more to come. 7.01 runner, fields out front well with good hands and a good exchange, flexible arm and can throw from multiple slots, plays balanced and under control on defense. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance, upper body rotational swing with good leverage, good bat speed with more to come. Also pitched, tight and compact arm stroke, some energy on release. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, change up showed good arm speed and some fading action, tends to slow noticeably on his curveball. Good student, verbal commitment to Tennessee.
