Eli Dunn is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Attalla, AL who attends Etowah HS. Medium athletic build, has some wiry strength with room for plenty more. Right handed hitter, aggressive swing with some strength and bat speed behind it, is well timed and looks to hit the ball hard, strong contact to the middle of the field and some gap power and will flash occasional lift, like the approach and the execution, projects as a hitter. 7.01 runner, smooth and athletic to the ball in the outfield, fields the ball out front, very good arm strength with carry. Also pitched, fast paced delivery, drives hard to the plate with his lower half, fast compact arm action from a high 3/4's slot. Mid-80's fastball topped out at 86 mph, very consistent hard and late fastball life, fastball gets on hitters quickly. Quality slider with tightness and sharp biting action, has feel for his slider and will throw at any time in the count, mixes his pitches well and knows how to pitch. Very good athlete who should keep improving with additional strength. Good student.
