2017 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Mason Nadolney is a 2018 SS/RHP, C, 3B with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Minnetonka, MN who attends Minnetonka. Large frame with broad shoulder, long limbs and present strength. Ran a 7.20 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with aggressive footwork while closing to the baseball. Rounds the baseball and funnels the baseball out front. Flashed good range to each side and worked through transition well. Released from a low three-quarters arm slot producing on line carry across the infield, topped at 85 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Loose, extended path to contact with a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and flashed good strength at contact. Generated hard, loud contact when squared creating good carry to the gaps. Also pitched utilizing a large rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Shorter arm circle at take back and released form a compact three-quarters slot. Fastball showed some heaviness through the zone with run to arm side in the mid 80's, topped at 86 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with good spin and solid depth in the mid 60's. Maintained arm speed with a changeup offering that flashed some fade to arm side as well. Consistently mixed pitches while aggressively attacking the strike zone and challenging hitters.
