Reed Mikels is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Tupelo, MS who attends Tupelo. Medium, athletic frame with some room for further strength and projection. Primary righthanded pitcher, high frontside throughout delivery provides some deception and presents a different look for hitters. Up to 80 mph with fastball from a high 3/4 arm slot. Works across his body a bit, but shows solid control of the fastball. Also shows some feel for a curveball with 11/5 shape and solid rotation, later break and depth. Flashes a rare changeup with some later dive and deception off of the fastball. Also plays infield, has accurate arm across the diamond., Right handed hitter, small toe lift timing mechanism. Inside hand path, works to the opposite field, shows some power potential when extended, needs to do so more consistently. Very good student.
