Ian Matos is a 2017 OF/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Toa Alta, PR who attends Leadership Christian Academy. Long and athletic build with good present strength. Right handed hitter, early load with good balance to start his swing, controlled approach with good explosion at contact, very repeatable mechanics, stays tall and hits from on top of the ball, outstanding game at-bats, probably hit the ball with authority every trip to the plate and hit with confidence, uses the whole field, load barrel and can elevate the ball, very impressive offensive performance. 6.56 runner, 4.33 home to first in games, very aggressive baserunner who caused havoc on the bases. Can improve footwork through the ball in the outfield but has plenty of arm strength. Good student.
